Meinl’s home-made pastries are sweet dreams come true! It’s impossible not to be tempted by the enticing variety of tarts on offer, from the delicate and fruity Tart Tatin and the refreshing Tart au Citron to the outrageously creamy Topfensoufflétarte with its fine layer of cranberry compote which, when warmed up at home, is a taste not to be missed! Meinl's patisserie also includes typical Austrian pastries, such as curd cheese, apple strudel, sour cherry strudel, chocolate gullet, pyres and, depending on the season, apricot or plum stain, which are part of a steadily growing fan base. During the Christmas season you can enjoy a tempting selection of Christmas bakery and biscuits and at Easter we recommend our popular Easter lamb.

 

If cake’s are more to your taste, you’ll be hard put to choose your favourite from our selection, which ranges from our famous Wiener Torte, made to an old family recipe, to the gluten-free Millenniumstorte, filled with apricot jam and decorated with gold leaf!

For those whose conscience will only allow such pleasure in small doses, try our lovely petits fours, made with violet or jasmine chocolate and French nougat, or enjoy one of our daily confections made from cassis, passion fruit, pistachio and other delicious fresh ingredients.


You can find Meinl’s Patisserie’s exquisite creations in all areas of Julius Meinl am Graben, including the Café, Restaurant and Meinl To Go. All our products are hand-made to the highest standard and are free of any additives, preservatives and artificial flavours.


Chocolate Petit-four
A home-made, delicate creation made from different kinds of chocolate. Enjoy it in the afternoon with a coffee or as a dessert after a good meal. Our flavours include violet, coffee, bitter chocolate, jasmine, nougat and orange.

Hausgemacht

Ob Kekse, Weihnachtsgebäck, Petit Fours, Makronen, Torten, Strudel, Kuchen oder andere Süßspeisen - in Meinls Patisserie wird alles haus- und handgemacht! Lassen Sie sich von unseren Köstlichkeiten verführen oder überraschen Sie Ihre Liebsten mit etwas Süßem. Selbstverständlich können Sie auch unseren Zustellservice in Anspruch nehmen!


Violet Souffle
 

 

Preparation

Break chocolate into pieces and melt together with the butter over steam. Stir the eggs, egg yolks and granulated sugar with the chocolate-butter mixture. Gently stir in flour. Spread soufflé ramekins with butter, fill with dough and cool down for 12 hours. Place the dough in the oven and bake at 180 ° C for 10 to 15 minutes. The Prompter are sufficiently baked, if they have risen nicely and don't look wet any more.

 

Remove from oven, dust with icing sugar and garnish with candied violet and mint. May give the Raspberry Puree and yogurt as garnish. Serve immediatley.

Ingredients for 6-8 servings
125 g chocolate
(approx. 65% cacao content)
125 g violet chocolate
250 g butter
5 eggs

50 g fine wheat flour
candied violets
